I Came. I Saw. I Coded.

I was reading my friend Sarah’s blog and her post about learning to code. I was inspired to teach myself some basic programming skills over at Code Academy. It’s a pretty good and free web site with some simple tutorials and introductory classes for coding.

Here is a look at a portion of their course catalog. As you can see, I got started with some real basics like “Learn the Command Line.” I think I will tackle Responsive Design and Python next.

Code Academy is pretty good but only has a limited selection of courses and they are really designed for beginners. If you’re looking for something more sophisticated, try Coursera.

I found a list of other sites for learning Python and discovered that even Google teaches a course. There’s also a book called, Learn Python the Hard Way that sounds a little intimidating.
